Lamborghini Ventures into NFTs with New Collection

Italian luxury car manufacturer Lamborghini is launching its Non-Fungible Token (NFT) collection to cement its foothold in the emerging digital art world.

The company said its NFTs, which will be a total of 5, is a digital version of ‘Space Key’, a physical object crafted from a 3D composite material sent to the International Space Station for joint research work.

Built-in collaboration with NFT PRO™, a white-label NFT solution provider for enterprises, Lamborghini said the five artworks will be up for auction with details to be provided at a much later date. The anticipated update includes the details of the artist who worked on the piece and what the NFTs themselves will look like. Each of the physical Space keys is integrated with a QR Code at the back, which will be needed to grant access to the associated NFTs.

“Innovation is a deeply rooted part of the Lamborghini DNA,” said Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman, and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini.

“Now entering the metaverse is again proof of Lamborghini always setting sail for new horizons. The NFT world has been calling to us, and we are excited about engaging with this very passionate and innovative community.”

Lamborghini churns out cars that are exclusive to the affluent in society. While the details of the NFT collection remain an enigma, one can glean based on the company’s pedigree that the NFT collection will embody class and the scarcity based on its limited number. That will also make it the craving of most of the digital art collectors around the world.

From Samsung to Lamborghini, and Adidas, more brands are finding their way into the NFT and metaverse world, a move that is billed to push the industry into the mainstream in a few years.

Bentley Announces its Debut into the Web3 World with NFT Collection

Bentley Motors is making an enterprising plunge into the Web3.0 ecosystem with a new Non-Fungible Token (NFT) collection.

Coming off as the next luxury auto brand to dive into the growing NFT world, Bentley said its collection comprises 208 pieces uniquely created by Bentley Design.

The British company noted that it chose the number 208 for its significance to the company. As unveiled by the firm, the number 208 represents both the top speed of its fastest Grand Tourer (the Continental GT Speed) and the entire production run of the iconic R-Type Continental of 1952 – the car that inspired the modern Bentley design DNA.

Bentley noted that the NFT drop is its first move into a broader embrace and integration of Web3.0 experiences for all its customers worldwide.

“Bentley customers are living their lives online, purchasing luxury goods with digital currency, and establishing businesses in the Metaverse,” Member of the Board for Sales and Marketing, Alain Favey said in a comment, “We’ve always engaged our customers where they explore their passions, and today that means being present in digital marketplaces and offering NFT assets. We’ve seen how NFTs have raised the profiles of both art and artist, and we believe the same can happen in the luxury automotive space.”

The NFTs will be built on the Polygon Network, leveraging its carbon-neutrality status which aligns with its goal to also become Carbon neutral by 2030. The company affirmed the NFT drop will be officially launched in September and will grant holders exclusive access and benefits.

Back in January this year, Blockchain.News reported that Lamborghini, the Italian luxury auto brand also floated its own NFT, featuring a 3D composite material that has made a return voyage to the International Space Station (ISS).

The proposed NFT collection by Bentley is evidence of mainstream automakers growing embrace of this new world.

Popular British GT Racing Team Launches NFT Platform to Authenticate Car Parts

A British racing team Vincenzo Sospiri Racing (VSR), the GT racing team backed by Lamborghini Squadra Course, announced a new non-fungible token (NFT) certification program that aims to verify (certify) racing car parts.

Vincenzo Sospiri Racing said on Tuesday that it has partnered with the corporate NFT platform, Go2NFT, to launch an official non-fungible token (NFT) certification programme.

The collaboration will first see the two firms develop a pilot initiative to launch the program in the near future.

Vincenzo Sospiri Racing will develop a pilot scheme to enable it to trial Go2NFT technology to certify racing car parts for authentication and auditability.

Once the trial is successfully conducted and satisfied, the GT racing team (through collaboration with Go2NFT) will develop and launch its NFT platform to help authenticate merchandise or other official products, including racing car parts, thus giving supercar fans a secure identification when investing in branded goods. The program aims to instil confidence among fans while purchasing digital branded goods.

The development of the NFT platform marks the beginning of an important long-term partnership with the Lamborghini ecosystem of companies with cars eventually to be shown as original (unduplicated) digital items in the form of NFTs.

The Go2NFT platform, powered by Skey Network blockchain, is a corporate platform that brings the Internet of Things, blockchain, and NFT together to enable future smart cities. The Go2NFT platform technology has already been successfully deployed to enable access to secure buildings and housing developments, to enable seamless access for fire and rescue services in major cities, and to create other smart city projects.

The Go2NFT platform enables brands to use NFT technology to develop their own NFT certification.

Vincenzo Sospiri, the founder of VSR’s GT racing team, talked about the partnership and said: “We have the great privilege to race in some of the greatest motorsport events in the world with one of the world’s most recognized and beloved brands. This also brings great responsibility – to ensure that we can securely authenticate and audit every part of our racing fleet to monitor performance and ensure provenance.”

Sospiri said it is exciting “to pilot with Go2NFT and the renowned team at Skey Network to build NFT certification across our cars and other products to ensure we maintain the very highest standards of quality and control.”

Boris Ejsymont, Chief Business Officer for Go2NFT, also commented that accountability and quality control are major challenges for brands wanting to protect their IP. He said NFT utility can help address the challenges facing most brands, especially in protecting the intellectual property of their products.

“We believe that the NFT utility can help build greater trust and transparency for brands and their fans. This project with VSR is just the beginning of many such collaborations for beloved brands around the world,” Ejsymont said.

VSR’s GT racing team began in 2015 when multiple World Champions, Vincenzo Sospiri, decided to turn his hand to GT (grand tourer) cars. VSR entered two Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo cars in the European Championship, alongside Formula 4 programmes.
